Not much, I used a 3 inch hole saw.

It's bigger than I want to cut...seems like it's going to compromise the structure of the bed. I understand not wanting to give everyone your "secrets" but holy s*** I would have expected some heads up trimming...

🤣 ya I'm with you - If I would have known before spending the $200, I'd have gone with a design like yours and just bought one of their tips. I seriously can't wrap my mind around not offering refunds and not telling people before they buy it that there will be significant cuts being made.

"Note: You have to cut/trim some plastic to install most Snorkel kits."

🤣🤣🤣 more like you need to hack your bed

Ok bros just an update...looks like the bed has to be cut and I'm not sure I'm committed to that yet. Gonna let it sit in the garage and ponder on it for a while cause I can't return it. Really wish I would have known that before, but I guess it's a kick in the nuts for me and some knowledge for someone else thinking about it.

So yes I too had that dilemma. Dealer told me the day of purchase, that snorkeling will void warranty.
Location of commercially available snorkel is such that cutting and or drilling is required. That makes it a no go for me. I needed something that can be returned to stock with no sign of previous mod. Turns out the only place to route is the center of seat. Heat gun to make the final angle of riser pleasing to the eye is required. Attached with a muffler clamp welded to a piece of 3” angle.
Pics below. Something to consider if warranty is a concern.

Thanks for the idea and taking the time to respond and post the pics - I might try to see if I can make that work with the pieces in the kit. I really am not wanting to cut the bed for sure

You could still do the 3 inch hole saws , just do them overlapping and a little at a time for a nicer looking cut if you decide to cut the bed. The duals are just for looks though IMO doubt it will increase power any.

Updates on this - if anyone is interested in the snorkel kit for the 520 let me know. Its been sitting in my garage basically undisturbed.
