I'm looking to take advantage of the sale on honda sxs club store and get my Denali plow blade. I don't have the biggest driveway and garage space is always a premium. Has anyone tried the 66" blade size on a P1K5 and if so what are your thoughts? If it causes issues then ill just have to find a place to store the 72" but wanted to get any thoughts first. Thanks!

I do recomend the 72. But the 66 is fine on a stock width machine.

While I say 66. At full tilt it has a 59 wide push path.
Stock pioneer 1000 is 63 wide.
So you will have 2 inches each side of tire scrub when full tilt.
Or just don't go full 25 degs.

And honestly. Might not be a big deal. Really. It would only be one side as the opposite side would already been pushed. Assuming.

I’ve been plowing for a long time. Bigger is always better.

I usually store my plow standing on the face of it so that extra 6” isn’t a big deal for storing, but it will make a big difference when using.

That's a good point. Assuming I'm wind rowing, after the first pass it only scrubs on one side. And being in the midwest snow is usually a few inches, not feet.

I would recommend the 72" and get a set of wheel dollies to flip it up on when not using. less space and easy to move if needed. JMO.

I attached a 66" and it just didn't seem wide enough - especially, as above, when angled.
I built a dolly to move it around and to help line up the pins.
In the summer I flip it up on the dolly and move it out of the way.

I too have been thinking about buying a 72" from Hondasxs.com store.

Good advice from other's in thread.
IMO,
A wider plow is my preference.
I'd want a blade that kicks the snow away from my wheel track, so that I'm not running over the windrow and packing down and making the snow harder to move.
This also keeps the blade attack angle, flat.

Years ago, I plowed snow on an industrial scale for a living.
I think that's why I'm dragging my feet on buying a sxs plow.
Didnt realize how many friends I had when i plowed..
