With the ignition off my 700 shows it is overheating and the engine light is flashing. It is doing this when I know it’s not hot. I can disconnect then reconnect the battery and it will run fine while showing normal water temp. Eventually it will do the same thing again. Anybody have a clue? Thanks in advance

I can't remember...but there is a situation wherein the dash stays on even with the key off. Dead or dying battery or something. @Hello_Darkness probably knows...

Get it to do it, the start pulling relays. When you find the one that kills it, try switching it with another (but keep track of it) and repeat, and if that fixes it, just need a new relay.

Could also be a short to voltage somewhere.

The flashing check engine light will also give you a code as a guide.

Doubt the grounds have anything to do with it. I can tell you from experience that loss of ground to the PCM in these things immediately shuts them down.

This tends to bey the main relay sticking due to low voltage. But with his unit not having starting issues, atleast not stated, I don't know if that's what causing the relay to stick.

But I've seen it on new units that arrive with weak or almost dead batteries. Usually the symptoms are accompanied by a clicking ot buzzing noise in the relay/fuse box area
