The shock on the left with the black spring, is a (1000) P1K-5 front shock. Part number 51400-HL4-FO1..

The second shock from the left with the red spring is a Fox (1000) P1K-3 front shock. Part number 08Z70-HL4-F50..

The third shock from the left with the gray spring is the OE rear shock from my 700-4D.

The shock on the right with the gray spring is the OE front shock from my 700-4D..

As I posted earlier, the 1000 front shocks are 1/2” longer than the 700 front shocks.

Likewise, those 1000 front shocks are 1 1/2” longer than the 700 rear shocks..

Notice the (1000) P1K-3 and the P1K-5 shocks are the same length. Big difference in the spring lengths.

The part numbers I have listed are from the 2018 model Pioneers. Some may have carried thru the years, I don’t know.
Did the 1000 shocks lift your 700? If so how much?

The standard 1000 shocks raised the front about 11/2” and the rear about 3/4”. When I did that conversion, I used the standard front shocks on all 4 corners. Definitely stopped the front end from bottoming out. Ride and handled much better at medium to high speeds. Was too stiff at slow speeds under 15mph. I did not like it.

When I switched to the Fox shocks, I got a much better slow speed ride. That was what I was looking for. Here again, I installed the front 1000-P3 shocks on all 4 corners. These shocks can be adjusted for ride height. I’m guessing they would easily raise the buggy almost 3” all the way around. But you would sacrifice the ride quality and not get the efficiency the shocks are designed for. I did not try it.

After all my testing, I’m of the opinion, the best setup for a 700 with a hard cab would be 1000-3P Fox shocks on the front and 1000-3P rear shocks on the rear if you carry extra weight back there. ( I have not compared these 3P rear Fox shocks for length and fitment ).

The 1000-3P Fox shocks use a 2” body and larger diameter , slightly heavier springs than the 700 Fox shocks. I believe the 700 Fox shocks only use a 11/2” body and smaller, lighter springs.

Hope I answered your question.

Update to this thread.

I moved up to a 2022 1000-5 Deluxe. I kept the P-3 Fox Shocks off the 700. They will be a direct bolt on replacement and up grade on the 1000-5 Deluxe. So the initial investment in the Fox Shocks has really paid off.
