P1000 About to change my oil... pointers.

Got my torque wrench down.
Fixing to change my oil.
Any pointers?

You need a bigger torque wrench and be careful with that pesky o-ring thingy.

Ya. I was thinking the same..
I did finally figure out the reducers setup that will work.

Oil drained.
Now to get those filter covers off.

Do they look bad.
Should I replace them with grade 50 titanium so they won't strip? Would hate to stretch a bolt.... would much rather strip the engine case.

A few washers should do the trick

The DCT filter is a PITA to get out.
But you can stick a screw driver (or something) in like this and pull it right out.

OK. Got all the parts. Check.
I won't be replacing the o rings. But good to have just in case.
Got to clean the cover up and put it back together.

Alittle rtv silicone will fix you right up

Next... tightening the 5 cover bolts....
and this is important so take notes..

Tip 1..

DONT USE A PHUCKING TORQUE WRENCH.​

NO NO NO NO NO...​

Tip 2.
Get you a 1/4 ratchet and a 10mm scoket.

Tip 3.
Tighten them as far as you can by hand. They should go almost all the way.

Tip 4.
Use that 1/4 ratchet and give it a good snug or 2. You can feel when they are tight. They should not even turn 1/4 of a full turn if they were hand screwed all the way in and correctly. Get them where you think they are "goodintight" and they will be fine.

Tip 4a.
If it gets tight... then looser...
phucking stop. And start back on page 1.
You done f'ed up.
