P1000m5 Adding a winch, switch panel, and strobes

Got my KFI SE45-R2 Stealth 4500lb winch installed last night, today installed the contactor and cables. Tomorrow my switch panel comes and i can continue working on the wiring.

Well switch panel came in, looks good other than the in-line fuses which i don't like.



Re-wired it how I wanted it since I will have an auxiliary fuse panel.


Bye bye safety warning. Lawyers shed a tear.



Made a template from the switch panel gasket to cut a hole in the dash panel. Scored around the outside with an xacto knife and cut the plastic with a multi saw




No turning back now.

Tapped the accessory wire and lighting wire with posi-taps.





Installed a ground bus with a euro-style terminal bus




Installed the aux fuse block in the little indent under the hood.



Aux fuse block gets power from a relay that is triggered from the accessory wire. I installed and wired a second relay just in case i want another one for something down the road.

Put the wired winch remote jack above the hood.




Buttoned everything up for now



Everything working as expected.





Lights on




Thats all for now, winch is working and all of the panel is wired. Next step is to add my strobe marker lights, should go quick since the hard part is done now.

Put a bed light in since i had an extra wire to use in the 4-conductor wire i had on hand.






Got the strobes mounted, two on the back of the roof and one on each side near the front.





Also found the the canned picture labels that came with the switch panel were a bit too generic for my taste so i tried to cut out little textual labels with my vinyl cutter. Not perfect but would be easier for someone not familiar with the vehicle to know what they do.



Amplifier and speakers are supposed to come tomorrow, hoping to get them in on the weekend.
