I thought about the rock crawler thing a time or two just never pulled the trigger.
When we first started using FPV I had a friend that had to turn his back and face away from the flying area because he could not get used to looking at the flying area from the view of the goggles. Too many years of looking at things from the ground
Was an RC hobbyist for years. First car was a Tamiya hotshot then the original RC 10. Started racing in 1988. 10th electic, 10th nitro, 1/8 nitro, and electric. Both buggy and truggy. 10th short course. Even on road. I dont even want to know the money spent on it. Still have a couple oh heli in electric and nitro. Quiet the rabbit hole for sure

I always preferred offroad. Didnt like oval too much. I raced a state oval championship one year in stock truck. It was the first time I hade raced oval and it was with my offroad truck. Wound up winning it. There were some pissed off people. The indoor carpet is so fast it is unreal. Short course become my favorite to race. Started that class with a Traxxas because they were the only ones that were making them. Jammin and then losi after that. We have a new indoor track in Wesley Chape. I t almost has given me the bug again. I remember New Reds. Weird surface. Had herd it was Cat LitterIll be damned Mark I didn't know you were into r/c, I raced stadium trucks I have some short courses but never tracked them. I raced outdoor and indoor and found I prefer indoor tracks less clean up. My first outdoor race I spent 4 hours tearing my truck down and cleaning clay out of every nook and cranny. I'm too ocd the clay on everything drove me nuts. There is/was an indoor track in Ocala NewReds I liked racing there.
I have big r/c's but I'm going more for smaller scale I still have a 1/5 scale and a Traxxas XMAXX they are just too big. I've been having fun with 1/24th scale crawlers. I gave my nephew my Axial 1/24 I'm now looking at FMS 1/24, I have their 1/24 smasher monster truck in my cart on Amazon it comes with portals and locked diff gears you can swap in $89 rtr, $96 with taxes.
