Just read so many threads about the P1000 clutch failures, bad.. I run larger tires so am wondering if the 500 may be prone to the same problem. Nothing found on search.

I saw some of those too, that sucks. Read about the seat heat too, instead of matting, they're installing bilge fans to get rid of it.
Nice machines but still glad I got the 500.

The 500 uses the old school honda wet mechanical centrifugal clutch that has been around for years, it wont have many failures, but may need occassional adjustment. The 1000 uses an electronic DCT clutch that they are having some teething problems with, Im sure they will get it straight soon, sounds like it may need to be beefed up to handle the power and weight of the 1000.

Only Honda I have owned that has not had a lot of qc problems is a motorcycle made in japan. Honda qc is suspect across almost all models now.

Just because every Polaris has a "Fire Hazard" recall doesn't mean every Honda has a clutch problem. The P500 & P700 have been bulletproof in that respect. As far as P1K, only 15% of the machines are having issues. The reason you see so many posts is misery loves company and those 15% owners have nothing else to do but b**** and moan about it while thier machine sits in a shop for warranty repairs. The other 85% are out riding having a good time not posting so much, some in fear of being labled, drunk on fan boy koolaid just because they aren't miserable like the glass half empty guys, that think posting about the same thing 200 times will some how make it better.
