I started just over a year ago and have to say it's addictive! So far I only have two, a Diana model 48 in .22 and a RWS Diana model 34 in .177. Both rifles shoot great but the 34 is by far my favorite. My next one will be a FWB 300S when I find one that suits me.
I shot a bow for years until shoulder problems forced me to have surgery so a bow is out now. Shooting a bow well was a personel challenge to me, plus out shooting my buddies always resulted in some good natured fun. These air rifles fill that niche for me now.
So if you shoot post up what you have.

I have always had some sort of air rifle since I was 7 or 8 years old. Well over 60 years. Probalbly wore out a Daisy pump every year for several years. I currently have a Walther Falcon, Hunter Edition (.22) and a Benjamin Franklin Model 312 (.22), Made in 1964. Cheap thrills, and the neighbors never complain about noise.

I shoot in my basement all winter long, just to keep me "on target" for when it comes to keeping the woodchucks and rabbits out of my garden and for being ready to fill my freezer with venison every fall.

Interesting. I have a Diana side lever .177 and haven't shot it for years but a guy at work brought in some pellets with red tips a while and said try em. I know years ago when I was plinking it was a great gun. Something about that spring and the sound lol.

I have a customer thats into airrifles. Even has co2 powered shotguns. Some of them are the real deal. Watched a show where a guy dropped a wild boar with a 9mm air rifle in 1 shot! I used to shoot all the time till neighbor complained!

Some of the PCP guns are insane, up to 4500 psi in the tank. I just shoot springers. jaqwuin, what model is your Diana? My 48 is a side lever, great rifles.

I went decades without owning or shooting one. Few years ago I bought a Gamo .177 pellet gun. With platinum pellets I can get 1400fps, but accuracy isn't as good. I had to shoot a bunch before I remembered that a heavier pellet at less fps was more accurate. And just like shooting sticks and strings, kinetic energy and accuracy are more important and get better results than fps.

Lead residue builds up fast in mine, and fills The rifling. I use carburetor cleaner and a wire brush bore cleaner. Then run a dry patch down it.
After that 5 perfect groups. If you oil the bore it also throws the shot off

It says Diana Model 48/52. I haven't shot it in years. I doubt if it's had 100 pellets put thru it. I remember using red, white and blue poker chips for targets.

If you ever decide to sell my it keep me in mind, it would be a good match for my 48 in.22.
