P500 Arms armor yes or no

I'm new and abit confused , getting conflicting info on yea or nea for armor. Many tree stumps and fallen trees in my local area. Looking at pics , I don't see a lot of arm protection, what am I missing. Thanks

Nothing. Its a preference. But if u need to decide between the two, The main skids are a must first mod

I only did the arms mainly to protect from thorns and crap getting to my driveshaft boots. Haven't had a need for tougher skid plates yet.

Used factory arms are cheap/near free on the secondary market.
Most arm protection tends to gather mud, sticks, grass etc. If they are not constantly cleaned out, they will damage your CV shaft boots. I personally do not run them on my 1000. I have a full set of spare arms if I ever bend one or hurt it.

I may need to edit my original response.
P1000 used arms are readily available on secondary market.
I do not own a 500/520. But have seen more and more people lately offering aftermarket arms. So used factory ones should hit the market eventually.

Haven’t damaged a boot yet. The problem I have is out west with heavy thistle. Nasty stuff.

I had some and sold them, so no.

I have the a-arms guards but pull them off for the winter, I bought them before I really knew they probably weren’t so necessary.

main skid protection is a must have imo.

I bought a full skid plate, but no a-arm protection. If I rode in the swamp, I might have a different opinion. When you can't see whats in the water, I feel they may be more usefull.
