This is the first time I have heard of them denying a warranty claim on the clutch of a 1000, they obviously know it is an issue now. Thats gotta sting after what happened with your first ride... You certainly have a good attitude about it...I am impressed with that! Sounds like you got it up and going in hurry, glad it didnt slow you down much.

Thank you lots! Ya we don't like being down at all. Without doing what we do we're not sure what else there is to do. It's a quick fix. Just wish I hadn't waisted money at the dealership. Lessons learned one at a time for us.

I feel your pain. I don't know squat about my machine, but I was absolutely appalled by the lack of dealer knowledge. From the day I went in and first saw it, to picking it up was 4 days. I read what I could on it, then went back and I knew more than they did. Per them, no heat issues, no clutch issues, no transmission issue. Nothing. Ever. When I picked it up, the walk thru consisted of looking at the pretty gauges. I asked to be shown one thing and they copped an attitude and I told him to humor me, which he did with an attitude. Needless to say, all needs of this machine will be purchased over the Internet.

Apparently mine has been the only one with problems through my dealership but then again they push Polaris very hard so I doubt they've sold a ton so I do to a degree understand why they don't know it but it's frustrating. Pretty simple really. But dealers don't know this rig yet they spend all their time on other brands recalls. Suggesting people to learn their rig there is a lot of good information here to do it then take your time and make sure you're happy with the results.

How did your clutch issues start?
Not 100% on how they got hot originally but we may or may not be hard on a machine just depends how you look at things.

I totally understand. I am glad the replacement was not too difficult.

My money is on Abraham. Only one of the bunch that bulked up when facing the bat. Or maybe the gay guy.

Well comfortably anyways. You know when you're out in a t-shirt ice cold beer in hand and the moon in your rear view.

What did the oli color look like?

I wasn't the one who drained it and honestly I didn't ask to see it. I assume good.

@CumminsPusher, I have to agree with @Delton on this one. Some of my best rides have been when there is a few feet of snow on the ground!

No Abraham is too valuable as a character! I'm thinking it is the gay guy as @Delton has described him.

Not trying to start a 20 pager here, but did you have your rotella oil in it yet? I know you were talking about changing to that but wasn't sure if you actually did yet. Not saying that's the problem or not, just gathering info. Did I miss how many miles?

Well @DRAGFOOT I guess Honda will put another mark on the board on this but yes I already did. As far as I know they are still warranting other oils. Do I think it's the problem no probably not and I sure wouldn't be all over someone who decided to run something else but I'll stay recommended now just to keep the manufacture happy. Not super happy to have a vehicle so picky in specific oil in my eyes it's like a special needs dog but I do really like the dog so I'll listen to the vet. Apparently as per Honda we are just to hard on things. It was at 550ish now at 640.

You guys are busting my balls here. We still camp with snow but just can't as often it's so much more expensive and tougher. We go from almost every weekend to every other to Christmas-Valentines Day off and that's depressing. But yes we do camp in the snow. This was Christmas. All of our friends and family spend Xmas in the woods away from everything. It's actually become my favorite holiday since we started leaving town years back. It's so cool to watch your kids enjoy the holidays without all the distractions that have become xmas it's like going back in time.
