After much reading and searching I can't seem to find what I am looking for. Which mount would be the best (inexpensive, easy install, rope angle) for a Badlands 5500 on a 2016 1000-5 with a stock bumper?
Why u only going with 5500# winch?

I have a Badland ZXR5000 and the KFI winch mount on my 2021 1000-5. I've used this (brand) winch mount on several machines with several different winches and never had any issues.
My buddy just installed the KFI mount with the Badland Apex 5500 on this 2023 1000-6. Again, zero issues.

I can't rightly answer that, as I've *only* ever used KFI mounts.

I believe around 1400 miles. We bought it new in February of '17. I believe I am up to date on all recalls. (was the clutch issue a recall?) Just getting around to putting some accessories on it.

@pioneerdoob - Check the bolt mount pattern on your hawse or fairlead that comes with the Badland Apex 5500. My Badland ZXR5000 long drum came with a fairlead with a 6.5" bolt pattern. I had to buy one with a 6.0" bolt pattern to fit the stock bumper/KFI mount. I went with a Badland hawse, as I switched from the steel cable it came with to a SuperATV synthetic rope. I believe your 5500 comes with syth rope and hawse, but check your bolt pattern (width).

The clutch update was a campaign that has ended not a recall. If It hasnt been done, its a good Idea to look into. Theres info on here as to why it should be. I had it done with my 16’ here is hiw u can find out if its been done.

My Badland Apex 5500 is hitting on the bottom of the bracket and will not let the winch slid forward enough to align the bolts. This is on a 2021 1000-5.

I had the same problem. I used a small screwdriver to help pry it into place. I also loosened up the top bolts on the bracket. After a little cussing a few prayers and holding my mouth right it all fell into place.
Used this mount on my Badland winch. Easy install and allowed me to mount winch with cable coming off the top of spool which allowed a straight run to the rollers. Other mounts I researched put the cable at an angle coming off spool and through rollers.

I have the same 2021 1000-5 with KFI winch mount place and badlands 5500 apex winch..the winch will not line up with KFI holes and I’m not seeing how you pryed it enough to get them to line up..could you maybe give me more details?
