Probably going with 27" Terribytes for
On street use for the upcoming law change here in NC.
Should they be balanced?
Preferred method?
I do plan to drive it off road as well, but nothing hardcore.

I dont do a ton of road riding, only to connect trails but IMHO the 700 doesn't go fast enough to feel a few ounces of weight out of balance. I have 27" terrabites and they feel perfectly smooth up to 40mph, not balanced.

There should be a yellow dot on off road tires. That lines up with the valve stem and you're close enough to balanced.
Never heard that before! Great tip.
I'll be looking for it now.

Mine have no weights and no wobble. Great tires for all around use

Replaced stock size Terrabites, not balanced, no wobble or off balance feel to me at 43mph on highway.

I agree, your 27s should not require balancing. Most tires do not require balancing when driving at speeds 45 and under. I have Kanati Mongrel 27s on mine and that's what the manufacturer said. I do a mix of hard surface and off ride driving and they ride smooth and fine.
