708FDEF9 94B6 466F BCE3 9A42582B76AE Just got a Boss V-plow for my 1000. I’m gonna plow my 3/4 mile dirt road in WV. And who knows what else.
Any suggestions for a simple, cheap method to strengthen the front springs?
I can find all kinds of wedges, donuts, spacers, etc. for every buggy but Honda.
Any tips or a link is appreciated.
Thanks

Go to a local steel shop and get a couple pieces of sch. 40 2in steel pipe cut for spacers. 1in tall will give you around 2in lift

That's a f***ing sweet plow!

You could use
A. Front shocks off a 5 seater- pretty cheap
B. Fox shocks and crank them down for plow season. - that's what I do
C. Fox shocks with a heavier spring installed

I have that plow for mine..I did the moose spacers in the springs, it helped a little. I've since put the fox shocks on but I havent tried the plow on it yet. I did throw about 200lbs of salt bags in mine when I plowed

Thanks. I just sprung for the Fox adjustables.
I debated the inexpensive spacer route but decided what the hell is another $650?
This way I’m not raising the front end, hopefully just strengthening it enough for this plow.

Cool!

Yea I just crank them up for winter since the plow is on most of the time. I think I add about an inch of preload for the plow.

What is this inch of preload that you speak of? I ordered the Fox QS3 and it looks like the three dial settings are the only adjustments.

preload is applied by using the nut on the body to apply a load to the springs. the body is threaded. Once you get the shocks, you will see what we mean.
