I had a squeak last weekend and figured after 4 years that I probably needed brake shoes.figured I better change them before takeover... But the fronts are like new and the backs appear to be good. It's a real pain to see them. Especially the rears. I forgot how thick these rotors are.
I seen the two arrows on there but can't Find my manual.I was assuming when they are together it means brake time. But not sure.???
On the front brakes, you’ll hear the squealers. On the rears, you’re correct, the arrows will align when it’s brake time. The thickness of rotors : front 10mm and rear is 6mm. Check runout if heavy pulsation. But if it was just a squeak, maybe just dirty?
Another way to check pad wear is to check the brake fluid reservoir. I checked mine and it was close to minimum. I did the brake pads just before the squealer just over 600 miles. My rear brakes looked just like yours. As recommended by @Hondasxs , I went to d2moto.com and bought a front set for around $18 shipped. Honda wanted $70/side! I know these are organic and those are sintered but for that cost I would change them twice a year if I had to!
Amazon and Ebay about the same. I used Ebay because shipping was faster and I dont have prime. Can't have prime I spend too much money. My factory pads made 600 miles the Amazon set made it 12oo now I have ebay's on it. The problem with pad wear is the front lower bolt mount holds mud in the slide for the pads and they dont fully retract keeping the inside pad on the rotor. So far the rears have 18oo miles on them.
