Installing Stainless lines yields a firmer pedal as the brake lines don't flex like rubber lines. Changing your brake fluid annually will also help. Brake fluid tends to get moisture in it which will cause a spongy pedal and causes the fluid to boil quicker. This usually isn't a problem with a side by side as you're seldom continually scrubbing speed like on a motorcycle or race vehicle. Heavier wheels and tires don't help as this creates more rotational mass. Wild Wood offers 4 piston caliper kits for the Talon which may cross to a Pioneer, but these kits are pricey. I run stainless lines on my Talons which seem to work well. Also, brake fluid varies depending on quality and rating.
