I don’t care which of the big 3 it is, they all have issues.
You must mean: Chevy, Dodge and Toyota? Because Fords are perfect

I was naive once too. I’ve had more issues with ford than any other truck I’ve had but to be fair I’ve owned mostly Fords until recently. You must mean: Chevy, Dodge and Toyota? Because Fords are perfect

Most of the trucks I've had come with a plug and play pig tail w/ female plug. Trace it out, unplug it, plug the connectors back together for truck only mode, check all the lights, if that all checks out ok. You probably have an issue with the plug and play trailer wiring harness???????????Thanks for the reply i really think i have a truck problem.Tried tails and turn with test light nothing i think the truck has to be pluged to the trailer for output to the plug i know that sounds crazy.Iam shocked no cut in stone for a 7 way round plug wiring.4 ways yes 7 way no.
Reminds me of a song, I Saw the Light, I Saw the Light!I was naive once too. I’ve had more issues with ford than any other truck I’ve had but to be fair I’ve owned mostly Fords until recently.
Do they not have the terminals labeled on the cover for the plug?I did ck the trailer over it seemed fine.Pulled trailer with different truck worked fine.Asked the dealer for a print out for the plug wiring on the truck could not produce. You cant even ck the truck with a test light all termnals are dead but the 12 volt hot.
Best truck I've owned is my Toyota Tundra w/ the 5.7 V8, I've replaced both side mirrors due to someone putting too narrow of garage doors in and a gas cap, gas and oil, lot's of gas. I'm going to rebuild it at 350,000 miles and drive it another 350,000 miles. The V6's may pull as good for a while, but you can't beat CU for pulling unless you go to a diesel, then I would go Cummins straight 6. I just wish I could rent a Dodge / Cummins for trips and let someone else take care of the oil changes.Reminds me of a song, I Saw the Light, I Saw the Light!
It won't need a rebuild at 350K. We've got a 4runner with 320K that still runs like new.Best truck I've owned is my Toyota Tundra w/ the 5.7 V8, I've replaced both side mirrors due to someone putting too narrow of garage doors in and a gas cap, gas and oil, lot's of gas. The Electical issues, $hitty drivetrain and rust. 🥳 God forbid u have to take ut in for warranty workI just wish I could rent a Dodge / Cummins for trips and let someone else take care of the oil changes.
It should.Do they not have the terminals labeled on the cover for the plug?
My Ridgeline does
There’s no replacement for displacement. 😉Best truck I've owned is my Toyota Tundra w/ the 5.7 V8, I've replaced both side mirrors due to someone putting too narrow of garage doors in and a gas cap, gas and oil, lot's of gas. We all know where you stand……. 😂The Electical issues, $hitty drivetrain and rust. 🥳 God forbid u have to take ut in for warranty work
I'm going to find out. If Toyota could've figured out how get 18 MPG out of the 5.7, GM and ford wouldn't be selling trucks anymore. It won't need a rebuild at 350K. We've got a 4runner with 320K that still runs like new.
That’s a reach Smitty, Ford and GM have good products and I don’t see them going away anytime soon. However, if Toyota made a 3/4 ton, I’d have one. I love Toyota engineering and build quality.I'm going to find out. If Toyota could've figured out how get 18 MPG out of the 5.7, GM and ford wouldn't be selling trucks anymore.
I’m not sure if the Chevy’s do but I’d be surprised if they don’t. The last three trucks I’ve had have all had them labeled.Do they not have the terminals labeled on the cover for the plug?

A 3/4 or 1t Tundra w a Hino inline 6 would be a perfect truckThat’s a reach Smitty, Ford and GM have good products and I don’t see them going away anytime soon. However, if Toyota made a 3/4 ton, I’d have one. I love Toyota engineering and build quality.
I’m drooling over here!A 3/4 or 1t Tundra w a Hino inline 6 would be a perfect truck
Not really, when a GM truck get's a little over 100,000 miles on it you can tell, probably has had a transmission, some front end work done and several alignments. Around 150,000 you can figure a long block, been there done that in our fleet of 7 of yesterdays..That’s a reach Smitty, Ford and GM have good products and I don’t see them going away anytime soon. Depends on the truck. I have a friend who got 250k miles out of two different Silverados and another friend who put 289k miles on his 2013 Ram 1500 and only had to replace two O2 sensors and the fuel pump at 270k. Then he bought another Ram 1500 and drove it to 245k with zero issues. Not really, when a GM truck get's a little over 100,000 miles on it you can tell, probably has had a transmission, some front end work done and several alignments. Well I will have to back up a little, I've always been able to get 150,000 out of a GM motor that I drive, oil changes are the life of a motor. The front ends and transmissions are another story. But I drive all kinds of terrain, dirt roads to interstate pulling who knows.Depends on the truck. One of my work trucks was a 2013 Chevy 1500 and it dropped the transmission at 96k so I get it.Well I will have to back up a little, I've always been able to get 150,000 out of a GM motor that I drive, oil changes are the life of a motor.
