I see on Dennis Kirk you can buy Bronco gas shocks for the P500 - front shocks are $135 each and rear $125 each. Lot cheaper than Elkas or Walker Evans. Anyone have experience with these shocks?

Never heard of them. Are they adjustable at all?

They say preload adjustable, so they don't appear to have dampening or rebound adjustments. Don't see a remove reservoir in the pic. my experience is gas shocks are better than oil shocks, but who knows? Less than 1/2 the price of the WE or Elkas.. They also say that the springs are 10% stiffer.

Here's the link...

Doesn't look like they have anything but preload adjustment. They'd essentially be factory replacements similar to an Elka Stage 1 except an off the shelf product. Probably better than factory shock ride, but someone would have to buy them and let us know.

Elka stage 1's are $475 for the pair (fronts) so definitely a cost savings if someone wanted to try it.

Be nice to know. fronts and backs all 4 for $520. Only $50 more than fronts only Elka 1s. I would like the 10% stiffer springs also.

Just saw where the new P520 has dual rate springs on the shocks. We need someone to get their hands on one and let us know if those are better too.

EDIT....The 2021 P500 also has the new dual rate springs on the shocks.

If its anything like the 700 when they swapped to dual rate springs. You wont tell a difference.

Where to you keep your factory shocks sit at? I did remove sway bar and it made a lot of difference.

I doubt if it’s a true dual rate set up, it’s probably the same as my 2020 p500....one spring but tighter wrapped at the top 2-3 inches then looks like a normal spring. If it’s not two separate springs that are different rates with a crossover ring it’s not a true dual rate set up.

I actually have a thread on here that talks about my purchase of the bronco shocks for my 700-4. I have also included pictures of what they look like compared to the stock. I started off with just getting front ones but after putting them on I quickly new the back ones had to go too. There are mixed reviews out there as far as durability but so far with only 3 trips on them with some pretty hard riding at Barnwell Mountain in Gilmer TX they are much better than the stock. Plus I got about a 1.5 inch lift out of them. The title of the thread is Front Shocks in the 700 forum. With the Bronco shocks for the 700 the front and rear have preload adjustments.

I purchased the Broncos. They bolt right in and are a little more compliant than the 2015 stock shocks. I put a set on the front and moved the stock front shocks to the rear.
Which ones did you get? I looked on their site and the P5 is not listed.

How do the Bronco shocks do on a hard hit? One of my biggest gripes with the stock shock is it feels like hydraulic lock when you hit a moderate bump as anything over slow speed, I don't think the shock is bottoming out.
