- All of us camp for the most part either out of a backpack in tents, cars or RV's or even yes, our Pioneers. Having the right equipment can make or break an otherwise enjoyable excursion into the wilds of wherever it may be that we're going to. Some stuff is obviously held to higher standards and we have to pay a higher premium for quality made products like snow peak and on the other hand, some stuff is lacking sub-par low quality manufacturing. By buying low grade equipment we end up paying for things in the long run. Stansport is a Walmart based brand so we think Chinese and cheap with little or no quality controls. In reviewing this gentleman's review on Youtube, he pointed out what others may easily miss. As he removed the stickers, he noticed that they stated that the plates contained lead and other cancer causing chemicals. He did point out the California Codes and their typical hype regulating everything, but it plainly reads what I just mentioned. He does cover an American made SS plate in contrast. I think in the long run we should all take care to read the fine print, even the ones on our dishes. So, enjoy great camping and campfire foods, just be careful your dinner doesn't take a bite out of you.
