You won’t get up it if it’s the same as it was when we were there.. maaaaybe if you did a lot of winching and didn’t care to tear up some s***. It was just too far gone.

Agreed ... thus my pull cable remark (get to the bottom and winch the whole way like Rail Trail at Windrock) or alternate route to the top of which there are several with the shortest one I can think of being about 3.5 to 4 miles.

I’ll gladly stay at the bottom or top with a cold one and cheer / jeer any popo drivers who want to give it a shot

I can recall taking stock Jeeps with Jeep Jamboree up what is now called Widow Maker. The first time I went up that was in 1998 and it was tough (especially the day I went up it the rain ... used to come into it from the shoulder of I75) but doable in a stock Jeep .... no more!

Yeah.. I’m familiar with widow maker. It claimed both CV’s and a tie rod.

“Normal” is such a loose term... I think @JACKAL said he ran it in an hour and a half the week before??. It’s not far if you’re not dilly dallying.

It’s not changed. I brought the ropes for the overland trip! Had recover truck standing at the ready with pizza and beer- everyone (including myself) was wearing our panties! @JTW had them red ones with lace!

There is another way to the top from Caryville flats! You can try coming down first!

If you want to tackle the Devils Elbow- I will lead a group on the expedition. To save two hours of gravel- we can load up on trailers and drive down to the Rocky Top Exit, park and shoot up the mountain in 15-20 mins.

I don’t think you will be disappointed. Last year was great even after it rained something like 10” days leading up to the event.

Oh yea it will be fine we rode Windrock 2 years ago and loved it. And according to what I’ve seen and read RRB is better !

I don’t know about that... the best view I’ve seen @Windrock1000 showed us at Windrock Park.
