Went for a ride on Saturday on some local trails and they were really overgrown but I pushed through and once it started to clear out (about a mile or two) I got into an area where the ash borer had killed most of the trees a few years back
Well they must have blown down in some high winds we've had lately and I kept having to Turn back or try to move them
So I decided to prepare for the worst and start packing a machete for the brush and a camp axe for the trees
No more turning back
It ended up taking about a hour to go around a mile this should speed things up

I thought about that it's just such a pain and I'd have to move some stuff to fit it in there

Where were You riding at? My trail (Crapo Trail) has a lot of overgrown trees also. It’s a PITA going around.

Up here in Michigan I've got wild grape vines that will stop you in your tracks
Wild raspberry bushes that will cut you like a cat so a chainsaw would be overkill
I use the fiskers for those ( which do have a ton of air miles on them) and they axe to knock the tops off the ash tree's so I can winch them out of the way

40 v Kobalt chain saw and hedge trimmer helps, dual duty for home landscaping and trail riding. Hedge trimmer for nusiance vines and sticker bushes, one swipe and gone. Surprised on battery life now a days. Chain saw also fits good in passenger floorboard.
