Began with a tree on the track and a coal train .
It’s a combination of abandoned mining area and gas pipeline roads and just old trails that connect former mining areas. We are located between black mountain and the tackett Creek section of royal blue. I’ve had Gaia app for a month or so and have been mapping sections. Here’s a small bit
The locals just call it Kay Jay trails but it spans four counties depending on where you start. We’re in ky. But you can be in Tennessee and Virginia in 35 minutes via car. It’s not a park or advertised but it’s some of the best trails and scenery I’ve seen. I’m on vacation next week and plan to map some more trails in bell ,Knox and Whitley county.

I wonder if you can go by trail from tackett creek to this area? I seen a bunch of trails on my lifetime maps tablet, in that area and it looked like you could take trails or maybe some backroads. I know I can come out in Middlesboro. That would be a really good overland trip if you can hit all that from tackett.
You can. You can ride from Artemus to Harpes creek or Goldens creek then via trails or highway 1595/190 to Clairfield Tn.once in Clairfield run Valley Creek to Tacketts crk . I’m not familiar with the trails in lower laurel fork but from Clairfield to Highway 92 it’s 10 or 15 miles via road.my nephew has lifetime and Gaia and has been on this trail often.Our area has more trails (although unmarked) than any off-road park I know of other than maybe Hatfield Mcoy.

I use to turkey hunt in Clarifield/Valley creek. I started to venture that way a couple of weeks ago when I was in tackett. I'm just gonna have to plan some camping trips there so I can cover more ground on a ride. It's like 30-35 miles from my place to Clairfield by trail.
Holler at me I’ll let you park or show you to the old Artemus school (parking lot) and point you to the trailheads.
