Tried HD Husky air compressor and it stopped working after a few seconds. Now no power to under 12 v dash socket with key on, checked with voltmeter. all fuses in battery box read 12v on both sides of fuse check points. Even swapped with spare fuse. Any other pioneer 500 fuse location? Air compressor works in other vehicle. Always something.

Bad air compressor? Try in your street vehicle. They usually have fuses in the plug.

@Mudder Check the connection at the back of the plug. Make sure it is firmly seated.

Fixed, @Neohio was on track. Not a P500 problem. Turned out to be a very small fuse in an aftermarket double socket plug I had added for a usb plug and radio power. Well at least I have a new box of spare honda type fuses for the tool box. Went ahead and put battery clips and inline fuse on air compressor leads so can now directly hook up to 6 ga wire terminals under hood for winch and stuff connections. Thinkng best to reserve the OEM plug for little stuff...would hate to pull the battery cover on a muddy trail! Ready to roll with the tunes again! Thanks all for the suggestions.

Good to know it was simply a fuse. Having spares is always a good idea. Just buy reputable brands. No china freight fuses, they had a recall years ago, fuses would not blow and ended up starting fires in vehicles.

To avoid a potential 12v dash plug blowing a fuse and dealing with that crappy battery cover, got this Noco adapter to run bigger stuff (air compressor and water sprayer) off aux battery terminals under the hood. The adapter came today and it seems to be good quality for the price.
