Stopped in to my local Honda Power Sports Showroom this week. Excellent salesman and walked us through everything. Sounds like the Pioneer-4 is in great demand and people are waiting a few weeks/months after ordering. Wouldn't budge on MSRP $11,650 and that doesn't include destination charge. $65.00 per hour for mechanic to install accessories.....even offered cash on the barrel head....no budge. Told him I'm looking at Polaris Ranger and he said he has a brand new PR being traded in next week for a HP and I could buy that one....said the owners hated the PR and wanted a HP. Honda Pioneer looks like it will give all other SxS's a run for their money this year. Will contact other dealers within a few hundred miles and see if I get the same story?

Where you might find a little wiggle room is the 600.00 destination charge, most dealers are also getting 250.00 set up charge. Accessories you can install and save the 65.00 per hour charges. Most of us on here have installed our own. My dealer cut me no breaks on anything, but he did deliver to my home that's 40 miles away. Some members have reported some discounts though. Best of luck in your search. " sling some mudd"

I got $300 off for camo. It was the next one due in. Bought full top and installation was free. That was about as good as I could get. Honda dealer had polaris from one end of the showroom to the other but no Pioneers.

They are out there. Since Honda isn't really getting these out enough to meet demand...that's the problem. If you can be patient, then you can get one cheaper. Definitely check around. FWIW, i got $400 off MSRP, plus the dealer gave me a few hundred over book for my trade in sight unseen, which tells me they still had plenty of room.

It's your money. Either they play ball, or you go somewhere else.

Powersport dealers don't have any room to deal on cost. a non factory or privately owned or independent dealership can give you a break on the machine cost and accessories. I am installing my accessories, street legal stuff etc. I put 500$ down to be the first in line on my dealers allocation of 2 machines this month. My wait time for it to show up was 5 weeks. I got out the door for 12,300 with a full top, 2 piece windshield, state and local sales tax, and registration. A good dealership will make a deal.

I paid $11,500 out the door for my P-4 Green. I bought it out of state and paid cash so there was no sales tax charged. The dealer also gave me a discount on accessories. I called a dozen dealers and this was the only one willing to deal.

Since I bought my P4 back in late September, I have been watching for prices and availability to get a little better for my Brother who wants a P4. While certain colors are becoming available (mainly Camo), the Honda power sports dealers aren't budging much off of list; however, most willing to deal on the shipping and set-up charge, but that's about it. There may be a way for those that are COSTCO members to get close to invoice cost on Honda SXS, ATV's motorcycles. Costco just announced they have negotiated a deal with most power sports manufacturers / dealers (including Honda). Right now there are a limited number of Honda Power sports dealers participating across the country, but if you're near one that does, you may get a much better deal than trying to go it alone? I purchased a new V6 Honda Accord touring ed. last fall using COSTCO after not being able to get local dealers to come down close to invoice. I signed up for the Costco Auto buying program and saved close to $1000 off from the best price I was able to negotiate with the same dealer and same exact car. It's worth a try for anyone that has a local Honda power sports dealer that participates in the COSTCO purchase program. For details go to the Costco website and look up Auto purchase program and click on power sports.

6 year old thread or a covid fallacy thread...

Here's my thoughts. Find one you like and a dealer you are ok with, make sure it's priced competitively (this obviously changes with the market) and buy the thing if you are good with what the market is bringing at the time. I am not interested in beating a dealer up for every dime and I am not interested in buying above market. I am also ok with paying more for a dealer that I like or makes the process easy and transparent or one that has inventory local and doesnt play games.

I do the same for TVs, beds, garbage bags and bananas too :)

It looks like Costco is not doing Powersports any more.
