What’s the total cost?
Estimate:
-Heater set -150$
- extra 75 mm pipe -10$
-two extra 65 mm diffusers, since original comes in 75 mm - 10-15$
- extra Y 75 mm splitter -5$ - not needed if you are more creative and not lazy like me that day I sacrifice original to make rings for 65 mm diffusers
- 3 L tank (might be wrong about volume, but it less a bit then 1 gallon milk jar) - 20$
- fuel line tubing from Napa parts 10$
- scrap aluminum plate - 0$
- extra 3" O clamps - 10$

Estimate total - 220$, way cheaper then any coolant base heater and WWwwaaaay simpler to install :))

And heat output instant, super hot if u want and can be used on the go or stationery.

I found all of these postings very interesting, has anyone bought the cheaper heaters off of E-Bay or Amazon and have they had any luck with them, I see some on E-Bay come with a 2 year warranty.

Probably the most educational online videos on these Chinese diesel air heaters that I found has been produced by John McK 47 and uploaded to YouTube in a 15 part series. John really takes his time in explaining everything you need to know about these heaters.

Nice work.

I’m curious if you tried blocking your existing radiator with a piece of cardboard?

This is what I do for my p1000 and I’ll be sweating in no time flat in my soft cab with my aftermarket heater I installed for $300.

Tried, but 1000 vs 500 is a big difference in heat production

I have portable unit hidden in the case on my cargo rack, we turn it on and drive with it on any terrain and any speed. As long as you have fuel in tank it runs. It was made for trucks and trailers , they are also installed but Webasto brand on SHERP, Google this machine.

Bring your P500 to my garage , will help u to install it

Does this heater work in the P500 durning driven operations....I mean riding trail's at speeds at speeds from 1mph to 38mph...anyone?
I use mine 100% of the time in the winter no matter if I am plowing the driveway or running 30 mph to the lake ice fishing. The best thing I have added for comfort. It is nice to get into the p500 on the lake after ice fishing and it is 70 in there! Keeps the windshield clear also.

How noisy are these heaters?
Very quiet, I put one on mine mounted on my sporting clays rack and i love it. I have since improved the set up a little with a T and a duct ran down and under seat for foot warming and re ran the top run to get it closer to window for defrosting. Waiting for a flapper valve to come in to be able to force it all to one or the other. Will post pics once i get it all done.

Man that's legit.
That was in my barn with an ambient temp in the mid 40's so the "Delta" would be an increase of 150-160*. I haven't measured the temp when it's outside in the cold. I did take it to my deer stand in 15-20* weather and was quite comfortable in a sweatshirt with the heater on level 5.

I had a 1996 S10 electric truck (one of GM's original EV's) it had a diesel heater, and it worked great with instant heat. They are pretty well proven and I think that overlanders use them for their camping rigs too. Probably the smallest unit you can find would work for a SXS/UTV cab. Good suggestion.
