The clutches are controlled by electric solenoid valves and if the voltage drops below 12.5 the valve will not open fully letting the clutch slip

That makes sense...... A bit scary though given all the issues.

Yes. With the stock battery, if you sped the day winching in the mud, you will have the clutch disengage and not be able to turn the wheels while winching.

Honda dealer is saying that low voltage will cause clutch to slip and damage it. Like say you use your winch and drain battery down or have a lot of assories running at night.
This is invaluable info. Interested to know how may with dual bats dont have clutch issues vs those without? Since I love mods and hate mechanical failure F it Imma gonna do it.

Dont bother cause many have already done that. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to the failures. Not enough for concrete evidence anyways. That's the part that gets most people (including me)

Mud machines with 32" tires have burnt up clutches. But so have showroom stockers with 30 miles on it.

Did the showroomers have dual batteries?

Some probably did and some didn't. Point is that finding a concrete pattern is very hard to do.

And so your downhill plummet begins lol. I been eyeballing some sliders as well. But want to make my own. After all I've spent on metal toys, the wife won't let me buy anything already made lol.

I have been married for 17 years and have run toys for a good bit of it so she is well educated on what is gonna happen. I had them on my last rig and was very satisfied.
