Throttle back people, Lets face it there are lot of machines out there and some people are very happy with what they've got. All side by side's have strong points and weak points. There are no perfect machines. I believe we're on this web site because we love Honda's and there reliability and quality of workmanship. I kid my friends about there belt drives but for the most part they work pretty good. I don't think we need to tare down other makes of side by sides to make us feel better about our Honda's. I have chosen Honda because I think it's the best all around machine and what others chose doesn't effect me. I appreciate this web site for meeting fellow Honda fans and finding solutions and information about my particular Honda SxS. I think the new p1000 will fill a gap in Honda's line up that be a welcome addition to all of us Honda lovers and may even draw in some more converts To Honda. You meet the best people on a Honda, Is that a old advertising slogan? Lynn ( a Honda fan since the 250cc Scambler)

The price will definitely be competitive, I am super stoked the difference between the regular and deluxe version of the 1000-5 is only $1000 that's not that much more for the color body panels, aluminum rims, and LED lights.

I'm not so sure price is game changing as it seems to be more than competing models. Price is fair, considering the quality. It only comes out on price when the competition bundles a bunch of options to get a feature like Camo. It's got a competitive feature set- the Wolverine and Can-Am don't have 3 person seating for example. The Ranger looks like it will be close in power, and may have an advantage in cargo capacity, but less towing capacity. The Can Am has more power, but less towing and a single seat. The competition can usually be had for less than MRSP and at times adds rebates.

In order to make a dent it will have to come down to:

1. Production- can Honda meet demand?
2. Performance- will the 1000 and DCT perform at or above the competition? How will ride and handling compare?
3. Will the Performance and Quality/durability make people want to pay the higher prices?

I really like what we've seen so far of the Pioneer 1000 and would be willing to pay the price premium, IF I could use a full size SXS. As it is I'm in the market for a new 50" and am deliberating getting a Pioneer 500, or waiting to see if Yamaha or Honda introduce a 50" Sport/Trail model. Working on my RZR is getting old... and it isn't ideal for when I am hunting, but it does run pretty good I have to say! You never know though... the P1000 is pretty tempting.
