That is a clean unit, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, especially for $9K. Like Adam mentioned, don't let the "high mileage" scare you. Some members here have well over 20/30/40K miles and still running strong.
That looks like a clean ride, I’d have zero issues as long as the test ride proved smooth shifting up and down.

For reference, my buddy has a 2016 P1000, 7,XXX miles, oil swapped every 1K miles, never left his 10acre farm, it’s basically a turf/road queen - basically drives endless circles with his dogs every day - if I ever needed a P1K and he was selling - id take that machine all day long.

That engine is based on Africa Twin, those miles are low…..

Got a little more information on it. It’s at a tractor dealer but they put me in contact with the previous owner. It was owned by a 70 year old couple that putted around their property. Serviced regularly at dealership. Never worked or off roaded really. I’ve got a hold on it and am going Monday to test drive/ pick it up! Got them talked down to $10,500. Does this seem fair? Thanks again

Sounds like a great price if well maintained.

For that kind of money you can roll out of there with a brand new P520.

Good news, I bought it. Seems like a very clean machine and even has service records that were kept by the local Honda shop. I do have a couple of questions. Once I got it home I did some investigating under the hood and found a little black box tied into the battery directly. Anybody know what this is? I’ll attach pics.
Also found a wire that is not connected near the battery that looks like a factory wire and even has a “clip” to hold it in place. everything is working as far as I can tell so I’m not sure what that could be, and looks to go into the main wiring harness making it nearly impossible to trace. ill also attach a picture.

Looks like a good buy. The blue taped wire is factory for hooking to winch solenoid. Early models called for the solenoid to be connected to the motor and frame under the seat so it was a labor intensive nightmare to install it this one wire. Can't tell you about the little box but I'm sure someone will chime in. Enjoy.
