OK so I finally took delivery of my red P2 today, I've been like a kid before Christmas for the last 2 weeks. Opted for the hard roof , full flip windshield, and QuadGear camo rifle case... Excited to say the least!!

Only put a few miles on around the yard and meadow but noticed something a little strange... I found a pretty significant vibration in both 2wd and 4wd at my lower accelerating speeds, 0-9'sh MPH. Once I hit 3rd gear everything smoothed out. I figured it may take a little time to warm up the transmission but still could repeaat it after a 20 minute ride... So is this a break in vibration that will work out after a little use? I also noticed to engine braking a little jumpy on a small downhill slope in my back yard, felt like I was riding with my 75yo Dad :) !!

Other that that this this is Effing awesome with oodles of power and plenty of speed for my needs. Coming from a 2006 Rubicon it's going to take a little "getting used to" before I hit the trails for New York's Northern whitetail season but looking forward to it. Christening the P2 for me is blood on the tailgate!!

Great forum here guys!!

Hmmm.....

A couple of people have mentioned this now.

I noticed it on my test drive, but i honestly thought it was the rougher-than-most-OEM tires...and i was on pavement.

On the shake, rattle and roll thread, a few mentioned that if you didn't give it enough throttle at low speeds, it would shake.

Hopefully someone else will chime in soon....

I knew I had read a previous post but I couldn't go back that far on my smart phone. I did drop the air pressure in the tires from 12 to 10psi, they seemed awful hard for woods riding...

I'll be out on it after work and follow up if anything changes. I'm comparing it to the low gear "crawl" riding of my Rubicon which may not be a fair comparison...

I went back and read the "shake, rattle, & roll" post... I don't have a power issue, just the vibration at lower speed/RPM. I'll get some more seat time and follow up. Hopefully it's nothing to be concerned about but I will be calling the dealer today and picking their brain. The problem is most local dealers only received two (2) units so they don't have a lot of experience with them either...

I'm thinking the two may not be related, but who knows. Too bad the OP hasn't followed up.

I pulled my swisher 61 inch mower going 1 to 3 mph for 4 hours. I found very little vibration and nothing that would make me worry. Only thing I noticed was the radiant heat by my feet but that is normal when going that slow. 430 miles on her and other than in 4x4 at high speeds i did not find vibration to be a problem.

I went out again tonight for a ride with the chilluns... Still feels a little weird in that low first low gear acceleration but I don't have anything to compare it to other than my Rubicon. I'm probably being a paranoid SxS rookie...

Thanks for the input guys, off to camp tomorrow to slay some Adirondack whitetails (and probably widen a few trails)!!

I too have nothing to compare it with. Everything that you wrote sounds right, mine does the same thing. Love the way you described the down shift, like riding with my Dad.......Mine does that too. Really think this is all normal. It is a blast in the woods and once you get the dirt underneath it, it works like a charm. I am loving mine. Should see my front yard. LOL

Oh...OK. Yeah, the Rubicon's power delivery with that hydro tranny is Glass like. I still miss mine. Probably nothing is as smooth.

Deer hunting this weekend with first 9 miles on P-4.......absolutely fantastic machine. Thank you Team Honda..everyone who designed and built it. You can haul a deer or four hunters ranging from 6'0 to 6'4 big guys. Just cant say enough about perfection. Great and safe for filling feeders also. Just set a milk crate in a back corner and then set corn on top of roll bar then pour it in.

Took mine out for a first ride this past Saturday, just north of Phoenix. Very dusty and forgot to roll down the real flap until half way done. Made a big difference when I did. Inhaled much less dust. Dust really clung to the optic windshield (scratches easily) but it washed right off. Took the wife and 2 of 5 Gkids out. No complaints with the performance, handling, noise level (but then I'm sorta deaf). Even took it through a good sized stream-had water come in the floorboards-and up a very steep hill coming out of the creek. No issues. Heading for the high country this weekend to do some more scouting for the upcoming elk hunt. Will really put it through some rugged areas.

Put about 60 miles on over that last two weekends hunting in the Adirondacks. This thing is amazing, the trails on our property old skid trails and ATV trails cut through the hardwoods. The agility and power of this machine is amazing. After having a couple guys ride with me last weekend I did see a Ranger and a Rhino in our pole barn with "For Sale" signs on them. Honda did their homework with this machine. Only thing that would top it off would be a little blood on the tailgate!!

That sounds like real fun. Be sure to post some pics of the bloody tailgate and the deer it came from.

Mine vibrates on pavement at lower speeds but smooth's out on softer ground. Im sure its the aggressive tires.
