P500 FourPeaks ride 7-30-2022

Great ride today. The weather changes hourly during the Monsoons so my friend Brian and I got an early start. Hit the roads up to the peaks then went on Road 422 for another 10 miles. About 60 miles total. The Elkas were great, shakedown run. In the pics you can see the clouds developing over the mountains. These will move into the valley after nightfall. Temps today were mids 80s to 102 when we got back. FourPeaks 7-30-2022 Last pic is the Monsoons dust storm rolling in.

I’m jealous that people have access to public lands so close to home. Looks amazing!

A little warm later on but not bad at all. I couldn't believe how green the foliage is now at this time during the summer.

I would love to be able to ride the desert and mountain trails of the west shown in your, @DG Rider's, and @!CID's photos. I would feel comfortable riding those trails alone with just water and my lunch.

Here in WV we have access to miles of public and privately owned trails but it's very rugged and often tricky trails with steep climbs and drop-offs, rocks, streams, mud, fallen logs, and other threats to an old man alone.

WV trails are identical to the trails the Tennessee members ride and photographed.

Most of the roads aren't to bad But I almost got into trouble going down a few trails that got so rutted if you fell into it a winch would have problems getting you out and Impossible to drive back up.
