That looks like a good option.. I can’t think of anything that would be any more affordable or practical.

That's kind of what i was thinking to in set door under cage . Make top with like 2 5" pipes to drop in lower .Bolts to lock them in would good idea . Do you think I need the blue or make upper one piece. Any idea on handles to use ?
To make the blue part of the purple the hinges would either have to be offset or a scissor style to keep that area from binding and hitting dash. I did try a couple things and couldn’t get away without having it be in harms way. But a small triangle will work. Maybe you could figure something out. Older Wrangler door handles are recessed and should be cheap. Should be a nice look for sxs.

Ya those handles. Simple steel rod to those latches you found and plastic clips. You know how they do it. You could do a light cover on the inside for a nice finish. Maybe with arm rests?
