What the heck was the topic again... sorry. Oh future of SXS.

I think the biggest omission is a QUALTIY youth SXS for a reasonable price, like a Honda Pioneer 250 based off of a Recon that is 48" wide and fits in a 6.5' truck bed. They could sell them all day long at 5K, wouldn't be many repeat customers though because they would last 20 years.

Example 1974 ATC 70 still running fine after 41 years!

The new crop of SxS's are taking us back to the late 80's, early ninetys. The new yamaha 1000 is a perfect example, people on other forums are pissing and moaning about the clutch (wife cant drive it) and no low gear, not trail worthy, were these same people pissing and moaning that the 350 Banshee had a clutch and did 90mph stock, how about a 500 Quadzilla try riding that in a tight space...The biggest problem with SxS is the
price.

Honda and Yamaha are now full steam ahead with this SxS market, it will be a slow painfull death for Polaris unless they change something dramatic. While at the MotoGP in Indianapolis a few weeks back I was bulls***ting with the Yamaha reps about the new "Banshee" I said "you guys got that comming, the Viking,Wolverine, Honda has the 1000 Pioneer on its way, about time you start taking Polaris under" His reply: "It can't happen soon enough"

Honda and Yamaha have technology and R&D that only Polaris can only dream about. Dual Clutch Transmissions were developed years ago on Hondas race bike, it took this long for it to trickle down into a SxS. The hot ticket now is seamless transmission, (both upshift and downshift) where each gear is preloaded. Polaris builds snowmobiles (great snowmobiles, I have no problem with them) They added 4 wheels and a dump bed and are now leading the SxS market. SxS's which are built in MEXICO.

The Honda Sport SxS will be similar to the Yamaha with gobs of technology, Ohlins suspension already is equipping motorcycles with Semi-active suspension. Monitors and adjusts on the go. Honda Load Leveling is the poor mans version of that....

Polaris is like H-D... MERICA!!!, If I wanted to ride a couch i'd stay home.

My problem is that my hourly wage can't keep up with the R and D. I think I paid $13000 for my CBR1000 back in 04. Prices definitely go up

well that ain't too bad for $13999 you can get a P1000 seats 3, hold itself up when you stop, and can got through terrain the CBR1000 never could. all after 11 years.

I've read all the cvt whiners too. I thought most severe service machines had clutches. Guess I missed something. If cvt is so great, why not F1, NASCAR, etc.?

It's good that Honda has stuck by their guns on the real trans. Yamaha has followed suit. No doubt a big push in the rite direction for the entire sport / market.

The best thing thing that can happen is Honda and Yamaha sticking to their guns. I was very skeptical when I bought my 700-4 CUZ it was automatic. I dont dislike it I just dont want a computer telling me when the best time to shift up or down is..I came from a 450 Foreman manual shift, 12K mi front dif blew out. I love the fact me and the wife can drive around the farms next to each other and have friends in the back and suck beer and watch the sunset!! However I wanna go faster then 45 at times and I wanna shift the F#@&n thing.

Polaris DUMBED down the ATV/SxS market. I have a 13 yr old stepson who grew up on a CRF50 then 100 now 250ex. When his friends come over they jump on the 250EX or 500 foreman shift into first gear and pin it!!! I am yelling from the deck SHIFT, SHIFT. They dont know how to shift. Their dad or uncle has a Polaris and all they have to do is gas it...SO lets make these machine so easy that any retard can drive/ride them. And thats how you get to a 04 Rhino and TONS of lawsuits. It took 11 yrs before Yamaha headged its bets and came out with the 1000.

Lets hope some retards dont ruined it again for us!!

Hence the next evolution, the Pioneer 1000, yes they are late to the game but I believe the future Honda SXS offerings and improved product will only get better.

my guess is for the future is SXS sides will stay in the market and yes they may price out of the "Working man" price range but that is what will bounce the 4 wheeler/bike market. SXS will keep advancing! as far as price sky rocketing I don't think so as much as CC and HP sky rocketing! you have to ask your self honestly do I need that much or do I just want that much? That goes for CC and Add on's. that will determine the price of the machines.
