Up date 4/22: Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. Picked up my first Honda product last fall (2020 x-4). From day one the location of the cluster drove me nuts. Couple months ago, I got started on a new box for it. I can finally say it’s done. I'm comfortable enough now to offer them to purchase. Cluster and column cover was measured using a CMM (coordinate measuring machine) and was drawn up with ProE. I made up multiple versions of it and tested them out over winter. My piece has multiple features on it. Sun visor to help block some light to see the screen better. Have a couple built in radiuses on the bottom to help spread out the load and help with the vibrations. The rear has some friction fit guests to also help with the vibrations, and here is a cutaway on the rear/bottom for room for the wires. I make them out of PETG plastic which withstands very well to the sun and heat.

Currently, I’m only selling the cluster box. I do NOT have anything made up to fill the hole where the cluster used to be. I put a piece of aluminum over my opening to mount a GPS to it. I also do NOT have anything for the models with the “live”.

I will be offering a few color options:

Jet Black

Blue

Orange

Green

Red

White

Gray

Please look at the sample colors.

These are built to order. Each one takes about 20 hrs to print. I have a spread sheet set up with names and colors to help keep order to who’s gets shipped next. I will collect the $ b4 I ship your part.

I will be providing one longer main screw and 2 self-tappers with the box.

You will need to get 2 wires about 20” long and either 4 butt connectors or solder them together.

110.00 shipped to lower 48 states. USPS.

PayPal or Venmo. (with PayPal, 110 sent to friend or 113 as goods).

If you would like one please PM me.

Should have plugs and terminals tomorrow to start making plug and play harnesses. Hope to get some made up and tested this weekend.

If all goes as planned I should have some ready to ship next week.

Kits with box and harness will be 150.00 shipped to lower 48.

I may also design one with 2 little diodes installed on the top to hook up to signal markers. If there is enough interest, I will make them up.

Thanks for looking. Kyle DV.

Would have been really cool if you had asked my permission to use my video in your commercial venture before using it.
i totally agree @TerryH this guy even purchased a pod from me witch i asked @PaulF prior to even posting forsale on forum. copied my base design and trying to push this off as his own would of been really nice to of been asked if it would be ok to post here seeing as i am still selling them. I at least asked for permission from Paul witch I got as a common curiosity because it is the right thing to do and I did not purchase a kit from Paul to start with Paul in turn thanked me for asking and gave me his approval. We are all adults here no need in stepping on someone's toes or not being curiosity

Not even sure Richard would appreciate someone joining just to sell stuff either...
Guess you need to trademark your material Terry...🤔

Good morning gentlemen.

Paul, I apologize you are upset about me posting your video. I’m confused though… I was under the impression YouTube was a public web page and has sharable content? Also thought I was helping you out getting you more views, likes, and subscribers?? If I’m not mistaken you even, ask for people to like and subscribe at the end of the video? Also let me point out there is even a “share” button below the video… If you want to limit your video sharing, then I would recommend you removing it from YouTube? Again, I apologize for getting you upset. I guess I was misled being that its on YouTube and has a “share” link. I did give you credit also in my post.

Sspeederr, we had this discussion in the private messaging. Id be more than happy to go over this again. I have been working on mine for about 3 months off and on. Mine was designed using a CMM (coordinate measuring machine). I purchased yours to review it and compare it to mine. I used yours for about 50 miles. This is called a “test buy” (also called a “competitive product analysis”). This is a common practice when you design and produce products you are looking to sell. I evaluated your product mainly to justify the selling price of mine. I needed to have justification if mine was worth more or less than yours. My analyzing showed yours was a little brittle and little unstable on the steering column. Not saying there is anything wrong with yours. You get what you pay for.

Mine has a few different features and looks quite a bit different than yours. Looking at pics, comparing yours to Paul’s yours has a lot more resemblance to each other. Mine has a sun visor, a couple of built in radius’s, and some friction fit guests on the back. I don’t know where you are coming off and saying I copied your design. Again, yours looks very similar to Paul’s who I think was the first to design one…

Fits off, Terry not Paul. I understand how YouTube works. It's not that you posted the video it's that you are using it for personal gain without even a thought of contacting me first. I do these videos to promote and highlight products that I've used and like. Your product is not one of them. Some amount of common courtesy would be appreciated when deliberately using a video that is not about your product to promote your product.

Being a retired senior, I’m interested in this magic 3D printing wizardry. And, being a senior, computers don’t come easy to me.

Can someone explain the smooth surface texture difference between Paul’s (which I purchased) and the rough texture of the one above? I prefer the smooth finished look and wonder if that’s the quality of the printer itself, a printing option or the plastic used?

Sorry this went sideways for you guys. :( I provided tech support for the DR650SE dual sport motorcycle for almost 10 years and had close to 1000 tech photos of that bike. I open sourced those photos but some guys still felt the need to take credit for the pics they used, that REALLY pissed me off. A simple ‘photo thx to CID’ was all I asked (aka ER70S-2).

CID, there is a lot variables in 3d printing. Speed, heat, plastic properties, etc. The pictures are a little deceiving. That blue is pretty glossy. With the sun light it really shows the layers of the plastic. Makes it look like it could be rough. Here is a pic of one of Paul's. It looks to be about the same as mine.

@Silveradodriver This is where we are now since you are obviously not getting the message from me or any others including @Hondasxs. Either delete my video from your for sale add or I'll delete it from my channel. Either way I'm not going to allow you to profit from it. Is that clear enough?
