Hi everyone,
I want to import the Genuine Honda winch / mounting bracket / wiring harness into New Zealand. I have tried to source this in NZ, but the NZ Honda Distrubutors do not support or cannot access accessories. Hence my request

Hello Scott12,
Glad to have you from NZ. Heard Honda is really pushing the market there. I am surprised we have not had more visitors from your area. Only had a handful so far.

I have exported several things to Iceland, but nothing as heavy as your request.
Let me see what I can find out!

Well,
Not too fond of my findings.
I guested the weight at 50 pounds total for both.
Cheapest shipping estimate was $300us.
Plus any duties / import taxes you will have to pay on top of that.
I wanted to help you, but that is too much of a risks for me to handle.
I will see what other options I can find.

Good idea. But with e-Bay you get many options / manufactures of various standards. My thinking is the Honda R&D engineers in Ohio, South Carolina (HSC), Timmonsville are more clever than me, so would like to get the genuine kit. I don't know the specifications that Honda recommend

Well,
I do understand your view. But its not always accurate and many times aftermarket provides a better item.

The winch is just a standard warn winch kit with a Honda logo. It has all the standard wires a warn kits there would have there.

The mount bracket/kit is what you need. This has the Honda OEM kit and extra wires needed to install including a switch.
Just getting the mount and buying a winch local may save you some money.

Also something to look at, the KFI top mount is popular. --> http://www.kfiproducts.com/index.php?_a ... ductId=571
If I owned a 500, that is what I would get.
Draw back is you will need to custom wire the winch.

Definitely a clever bunch, but there are some options available (here in the U.S., not familiar with NZ or Aussie brands) that are good quality winches.

Thanks - good idea of getting the mounting bracket from the web site you suggested. Do you know what Warn winch is suitable? and where you can get a wiring harness?
( I note some winches have the motor +12 volt / -12volt exposed, where as the Warn winches seem to enclose their terminal connections - is this correct?)
