I use to occasionally tow my P500 in an open trailer. I had a 4x4' sheet of 1/4" plywood that I put pipe insulation along the edges. I drilled holes in the 4 corners for bungee cords. It propped up nicely off the windshield (SATV flip up) and protected it the few times it went somewhere in an ope trailer. I posted it on a similar thread a few months ago. I'll look for the photo.

What if you backed your rig onto the trailer?
Know this is delayed, but just read through this thread. I went a bit cheap on my single-piece Lexan windshield, and have had a 2/3rd - 1/3rd split windshield before. Both of them came with a shipping sticker saying not to tow the vehicle reversed. The windshields will rip off the mounts.
And yes, it's glass for me next time . . .
