Yeah. I’m starting to see that plenty of folks have success with 28’s. I wonder why there are also lots of folks that say they won’t work? It makes the whole tire/wheel purchasing experience much more difficult than it likely needs to be. Different brand tires having different actual measurements doesn’t help much either. I’ll know once I get them mounted, but I’m 99% sure that with the wheels and tires I purchased, 28’s would fit with zero issue.

sure you could stuff it in there but without further modifications they will rub.

Good to hear its the right choice! I didn’t realize I was in the 500 thread. I guess I also didn’t realize there would be a differance. I’ve been reading that I’ll want to keep the tires around 4-6psi for a better ride. I’ll mess around with it and share what I learn.

You're in the right thread, the 500 and 520 are essentially the same machine. By getting 12" wheels you've helped the rough ride some already as you'll have more sidewall than a 14". Running lower tire pressure helps as well, I'd start out about 9 or 10psi personally and see how it rides. Too low of pressure causes pinch flats and possibly a bead leak.

The fronts rub frequently. Not as much on my 500.

I decided to put the tires/wheel on today without the rear 1” rear spacers. I’m not sure what’s up with RB3, but I ordered the spacers last week on Monday and still have yet to recieve a shipping confirmation. I sent them an email yesterday, so hopefully I’ll hear back soon that they are on the way. As you can see from the picture with the wheel turned, 28”s would definitely rub. The 27”s should be good unless tight cornering over rough terrain. A quick tape measure shows around 53”s wide with this set up. It definitely brings some character to the machine. I’m sure the tires will perform much better than stock. Thanks again for all the help.

I dont have a 500 but I have been running megabites for about a year. My observations are they work about the same as bighorns in sand. So maybe that would cross over to snow also. I like the megabites everywhere else including mud. The megabites are a stiffer tire so I run less air. I am at 8psi in front and 10psi in back. Just personal preference. IMO they look good on your ride
