Short version. The last trip out we had a brake issue. We were very limited with tools and by the time I got things bandaged up then wheel back on and lowered it, I didn’t torque the lugs. Was just pissed, I wasn’t thinking right anymore. Next ride out we were way out and headed up a big hill when wheel was flopping. Couldn’t really stop mid way so continued up. At top we realized how bad lugs were so we stole one from another wheel. We limped it back.
Now I’m fixing my f*** up. Two lugs are now spinning because they were crossed on because of the bunged threads. Going to grind off backsides tomorrow to get the f***ing wheel off the hub but I figure it’ll need not only lugs and nuts but probably a new hub now, gotta feeling wheel is toast. Sometimes it’s just those small things that happen then go totally f***ing sideways. Gotta learn to control my patience.
Well done!

Snows gone already wth? This year it snowed early and it’s been off and on since early September but nothing long. No real Thanksgiving snow this year, hoping to have a white Christmas. Won’t be Christmas without.

Had to employ a wheel man last night while we were moving bales. He did good keeping up with the tractor and helping open gates.

I agree. Normally when things go somewhat as expected it’s all good but frustration leads to mistakes. I’m guilty of that occasionally. I don’t like to but I’ll admit failure.
Ground the studs off this morning. Think I’ll reuse the hub by throwing a weld on the replacement studs to the hub. Wheel is toast. s*** happens gotta move on, it’s getting fixed.

Thank the dear Lord! Lost two employees today, one was a good guy and had turned in his two week, two weeks ago. He will probably be back, the other one got strung out on Meth starting a month ago and now is a total addict, been talking with him for the last two weeks about getting his life in order and he just can't resist the draw of the drug, sad! Two little girls two weeks before Christmas and loses the best job he's ever had? Meth!

That’s horrible. You would think people would look at their kids and find a way to get their act together but I guess not.
