Pennzoil used to be real good for gumming up motors...When Dad would sell a motor he said there was no warranty if they ran it..today id say its about the same as any others...i use Valvoline...but ive always used it...so did Dad..just like we always have drivin Chevrolets...dunno why..just always have

My experience as well. Haven't put Pennzoil in anything since the 80's.

Truth be told its probably all.made in the same place anymore...i do know that Napa branded oil is made by Valvoline.

I use to use valvoline exclusively but switched to the penzoil in a full synthetic with the ecoboost.

I don't even buy conventional motor oil anymore, only full synthetic. Amsoil, Royal Purple or Mobil 1.

Interesting... I’m interested to hear @KYhillbilly’s opinion as oil testing is what he does.

I remember him saying that you could use about any motor oil as long as you kept it changed regularly. I saw a video testing different motor oils that had been frozen and how they poured out of the bottle, all were thick as hell but the synthetics would at least pour. The Walmart oil was the worst, I don't think it came out.
