I also have the 10 x 28 x 14 Terrabites on Fuel wheels. Tires are very heavy and when I put my stock tires back on to plow snow this winter I noticed how much EZer machine drives with the stock tires. Also I can push in my shop with the stockers but with the Terribites it is very hard to push a few feet mounting the plow. Next tires I buy will be lighter.

I'm a little nervous about weight too but I need a little
height. We'll see I guess. Thanks for your input.

My QB846 28x10x14's arrived yesterday. I weighed one on a digital scale at work. 34.1lb. Was disappointed to see they are made in China....Guess I should have asked on here before buying.

My opinion...Blackwaters, I have had 3 sets so far, they are light compared to the lead heavy Roctanes but I have yet to puncture one in 1500 miles on some very rough very rocky trails. They are decent in the mud but not a mud tire so the mud bugs should stay away from them. They do not wear well on asphalt....The factory Bighorn 2.0 I had 3-4 pinch flats half a dozen small punctures on lesser trails and all in less than 400miles.

Another option would be the OG BigHorns they are a 6Ply tire but a lot of people have good all terrain use out of them. I liked the BigHorn 2.0 for traction but they are incredibly thin tire for heavy use. No opinion on the 3.0s

The TerraBites are solid tires, I've had a chance to drive @joeymt33 rig over some rocky terrain and they grip very well. We've also covered a good bit of the same very rough very rocky trails and I don't believe he has had any punctures. They have a Kevlar version of the Terrabites also which is on my radar for my next set and for my Talon build.

Those three are priced well too.

Just installed and measured my QB846 28x10x14's. Measured with a level and 13lbs pressure. 26.75 tall. Also weighed one before installing, 34.1lb. Stock rear Bighorn with 1500 miles on it weighed 26.9. What is the recommended pressure for the QB? Ride a lot of gravel and some street.

Hey Bones, from what I've been reading you are likely right where you want to be at 13 lbs... maybe 14-15 lbs if you are more street and hard pack.

How do they look? Do the fronts and rears look "off" due to the different width wheels? Do the fronts handle/steer well on gravel?

Any pics?

I ran mine at 13F and 14R initially and found the ride to be a bit too stiff. I've since dropped them down to about 11.5. Lately I've ridden a lot of ice and snow and the tires and pressure has been great. I like the 11-12psi for soft sand as well.

Todd - Do you have yours mounted on stock deluxe rims? If so, how are they for looks and handling with the 6.5" front wheels and 8" back wheels? Any side view pics of your machine? Thx

I had them on stock wheels. They are on 14x7s now. The stock front wheels are kind of a pain to mount being so narrow with such a square profile tire. The stock rear wheels are probably too wide for a 10" tire. I struggled with rocks and dirt in the tire beads on the back.

This is with stock wheels

Ahhh, kinda what I was concerned about... I want to immediately sell the the stock Bighorn 2's and don't really want to fork out the coin for new wheels. I will find myself in mud and rock but the majority of the miles will be on hard packed gravel roads. An 8 ply radial is what I'm after but there doesn't seem to be much width options in the 28" tires. I may have to reconsider the Blackwater EVO's in 28-9 & 28-11.

Three sets, how many miles are you getting from a set? I’m most likely buying the 27/9/12 and 27/11/12

They do fine on stock Deluxe wheels. I had the tire shop balance them as-well. The ride is far better on gravel/blacktop. My biggest disappointment is they are not true to height. You'll also notice a some power loss from the weight.

Did you actually inflate them to 24psi (rated tire pressure) and check the tire dimensions? I like the ride at 12 psi and I'm more than happy with the tire size, they are definitely an inch taller and wider than the stock tires at the same pressure.

Three sets, how many miles are you getting from a set? I’m most likely buying the 27/9/12 and 27/11/12

Set was on my 700 got about 3500-4000 miles the last time I talked to the guy who bought it.

This set on my 1000 has about 1500-1700 miles and is about 50% tread but they spin on rocks a lot more than the 700 did and there’s about 100miles of asphalt on them.

I ordered a new set wheels and tires, to have before Takeover and going to be using two for spares and two for a yard/trail trailer I built.

Correction to my previous post (3) PinchFlats. I had to fill the punch flats with plugs then patched them inside and out.

Todd,
No, I didn't change the pressure from what the tire shop set them to. I'll put 24 in them and remeasure and post findings. It rides and drives like a car on blacktop now.

You're never going to want to run them at 24 psi but that's where the tire dimensions come from.
