Wanting to see and hear from those who have done their own frame for a glass wind shield, what did you use, what would you do differently if you were to do it again.

Look at a factory Honda shield up close, they are so easy. I’d sure go aluminum especially since you have all the tools. If you’re not going tip out I could send you the cardboard cutout for the glass shop since my spacing would match yours.

See my garage item, 1/8 inch alu., with 1/8 x 1/4 angle frame around the glass.
I probably would set it lower next time so to see the ground immediately in front of the machine better.
Cost- $285.00 ish.

PICS: Started with bottom aluminum panel last year with lexan panel above it.
Couldn't stand the scratches last fall.
In my spare time this winter I researched and designed this.
Cut a top panel from 1/8 " alu. Bolted 1/8 x 1/4 alu angle iron to attach hinge and to stiffen the panel.
Painted it red.
Bolted angle around the hole that I cut out with a jigsaw. Welded the corners where they came together.
Painted it black and had a local glass co. urethane it behind the panel. ($60.00)
Used broken School Bus emergency door props to adjust it.
