Hi all
A buddy of mine is making me a tailgate box for my pioneer.
What would you recommend I coat this with afterwards?
I was thinking of getting it sprayed with line-x. Any other ideas ?

I'd just give it a few coats of well prepped good old enamel paint. There's millions of old pieces of farm equipment sitting around in the weeds with that stuff holding up just fine. If it aint broke don't fix it.

Only reason I asked is bc prepping the aluminum is pretty labor intensive. Real Line X isn't cheap but is resilient as hell and cleans up nice. Have it all over my machine.

That looks good! It's going to be really heavy at 1/4" steel though.

You could either paint it with a good enamel paint, coat it with Herculiner, get it powdercoated, or real line-x it.

That list is in order of durability, and price low to high. I personally would go with paint or Herculiner and think it would hold up fine.

Clean it well, prime it and roll on a quart Herculiner. Save the Line-X cost for another upgrade.

Definitely will get some rear wheel traction with 1/4 steel. Rock solid for sure.
