The little 500 sure comes in handy!

I’d love to see what other folk have hauled out with their P500/520s!

My daughter and FIL. both got a buck one morning. The p5 hauled the 3 of us, the 2 deer, all our gear with the high rack I built on it back up some steep hills back to camp. Pockets didn't skip a beat. Hoping to put something in it in the morning.

I hear that! I like to take my hitch rack- nice and low, especially for a large bodied deer.

I just started looking at a hitch rack, too. I have a moose 2" receiver, so a rack would probably be better, even though the moose sits higher than the stock 1.5 receiver..., so the rack would probably be 14" off the ground, give or take. Even though it's a dump cart I still struggled to pull it into the cart. I was thinking of how to devise a come-along to help load it, then thought of the rack.

Hey Tom_C, I use my winch and a few flat mounted pully blocks from Tractor supply. I free spool my cable out and over the top to the back and wrap it around the rack of the deer and pull it right up. I have a homemade wood roof and bed so it was easy for me to just screw them in. Not sure how your set up but it works great.

A come along and a soft shackle could do the pulling/lifting for you. Soft shackle around the ROPS for the come along to connect to.

This year? Not a damn thing, because I F'n suck. Missed two so far; one a couple weeks ago and another today. At this point, I'm considering considering parking my running P5 in my enclosed garage and sitting in it to think about what a hunting failure I've become.

Sorry, man. I get the frustration. Sometimes it just doesn't work out; other times they practically fall in your lap. Rarely goes to plan, that's for dam sure.
At least for me anyway.

I've struck out so far as well. Passed on a few doe, only good buck was at 400 yds.

Gonna be at it again this weekend.

Have a slug of bourbon . . .

Be thankful you actually saw something to shoot at. I haven't seen anything yet. I hunted last Sunday and tracts were everywhere. Rained Monday. Walking out yesterday morning I couldn't find one fresh track.

Now that's a good day, congrats to you both! Unfortunately I have nothing to contribute, yet. I generally bowhunt even through gun season so that's my excuse, more or less.
