Anyone tried modifying their 2 piece windshield so that it tilts up more. I would like something that has hydraulic lift supports. I personally think that the windshield tilt out mechanism is cheap and should be a lot easier to use....

I agree....for what it costs the tilt part sucks. I had a kolpin on my T4 and it was much easier to use.

Some simple shocks like they use on the rear gull wing soft doors might work well to raise the windshield higher.

Might try some shocks off a truck toolbox considering they are not to long and could raise it some.

I would like to have a machinist mill me a new bracket about 4 inches longer. I would be happy with that amount of opening.

If it could direct air down instead of just up it would help with the dust and heat

I am in the process of making a simple air foil so that the air will be directed onto myself from the roof.
Was experimenting by just placing my hand and will Benifit big time on a hot day.

Please post picture when done. I was checking it today using my hand. Thinking your deflector will help a lot.

does anyone have a problem with the 2pc split windshield flapping like crazy when it's opened? i have the rear soft panel and no roof, that might be part of it. once you get over 20mph, it's starts shaking like crazy........

I also have a hard roof and soft back. The flopping starts above 40mph pretty bad.

Yes mine does this as well; when closed I would get chatter then I installed neoprene seal on the bottom and the chatter stopped once closed still flaps when open.
