Hey everyone, I just recently bought a brand new 2023 1000-3 Pioneer Forest edition.

The dealer installed a nice accessory package, including a two piece windshield.

On the very first weekend I used it, it appears that I lost one of the the bolt, top hat washer, and nut for the lower windscreen section. There are 4 of these for that lower part. The attached pic is from one of the other of the 4 I took off to show everyone.

Is there an easy way to order a replacement for the bolt, washer, and nut? I called the dealer, but they made it sound like I would have to order an entirely new kit, which seems ridiculous.

Thanks for the help!

That looks to be a rubber "well nut", here's an example of an M6 size:
Well Nut

You may need to do a bit more looking and make sure I'm right. Cheap enough to replace all of the ones you have left so they look the same.

The basic idea is they go into a pre drilled hole, then when the screw it inserted and started to tighten up, the rubber expands and locks the nut in place. They are removable (as you found) and easy to use, also handy to have around the shop (usually in smaller sizes for to mount stuff. :)

I am also looking for the 'top hat spacer' part number.
It is ferrous and 8 of them came with my 2-piece folding poly windscreen.

The 6x20 mm button head bolt and the 6 mm flange nut part numbers are in the link above. 👍

How many do you need?
I will see what I have left from removing my Honda windscreen.

Swung by the dealership last week. You can get the top hat spacer... if you buy the "Assembly Service Kit". 🤨

For the two piece WS:
OP: 0SR71-HL4-A10
HC: 0SR71-HL4-A20

HONDA OEM RH ASSY | 0SR71-HL4-A20K2 (~$93)
HONDA OEM LH ASSY | 0SR71-HL4-A20K1 (~$93)

Left and right lower seals:
Left Seal: 0SR71-HL4-A00R10
Right Seal: 0SR71-HL4-A00R11

You can also make your own top hat spacer. A rubber washer and a short length of rubber tubing (like silicone rubber tubing) will do for the "top hat" piece, then a suitable screw and nut.

It's common practice to mount plastic windshields and such with rubber isolators. The material has a fairly high thermal coefficient of expansion that can cause issues as it expands and contracts with temperature changes more than the object it's mounted on. That's one reason for the rubber mounts.

Most of our windshields are polycarbonate (Lexan), the other commonly used plastic is acrylic (Plexiglas) but that is more brittle and susceptible to stress cracks and/or makes sharp shards on impact. Its redeeming quality is that it's optically clearer than glass and scratches are easily polished out.

So, the plastic we're mostly dealing with is polycarbonate (Lexan is a trade name) - even though it's light transmittance is not as good as Lexan or glass . Polycarbonate is safer in an accident and has the advantage in strength, you can actually put it in a sheet metal brake and bend it without heat, just as you would a metal sheet. It doesn't tend to shatter on impact like acrylic, but scratches are near impossible to polish out. For windscreen use, there are versions with a hard protective coating to help prevent scratches.
