One of my ride buddies has a 250F and another has an older 230F. Very similar. Those are both great trail bikes. I'd like to have a 250L one day to ride NF roads and trails. That would be fun to me.

250L is now a 300L

They've replaced the 230 with a 250. Similar chassis, engine is different and fuel injected.

Even better then the 230, imo. With shim valves, it'll probaly never need a valve adjustment.

I have had several shimmed valve (cam and bucket) dirtbikes and have found that if you ride them like a rocker valve engine and keep the RPM at reasonable revs then the shimmed valves last a long time between adjustments. If you rev the crud out of the engine you will be adjusting often, then tragically will run out of adjustment due to valve recession. Rockers will cause valve float before valve recession occurs, not the case with cam and bucket valves. I have had XR250s and loved them, however the CRF250 has great updates; light weight, great suspension, and the magic electric start button ... best addition to a dirtbike ever!
