I have 17,600 and some miles on my P1000 and so far just $30.00 in parts a bit before 12,000 miles. I think its unlimited mileage so if your going to put on a lot of miles it may give one piece of mind, especially for $600.00. If I didn't have my 2016 Yamaha YXZ also with 17, 500 on some miles it would be around 35,000 miles. The P1000 should be good for 40,000 to 60,000 miles depending on maintenance. Both will be hard to sell. I ordered a Talon R.

I think you’ll see more regrets from people getting the extended warranty rather than not getting it. There’s been at least a few on the forum that had it and still had issues getting stuff covered. I’m not sure how much of that comes down the the individual dealer though...

I think it comes down to the dealer, and his factory rep.

I got the 5 year warranty with mine cost 1300. I plan on using mine to carry 1000 lbs in the box multiple times a day up a 45 deg hill at my mining claim . I figure it would cost more then that for a transmission if I blow it. I would rather have a warranty and not need it then to need it and not have it.
But that's me
How much does a transmission cost for a P1000-5

Did you get the extended warranty for the Talon?
