I have a P1000 I purchased that had sat for about 6 yrs. I had to change out injectors, idle air control valve, fuel pump, and drain the fuel tank....amongst other things. It runs great, but it will not shift. It will occasionally in manual mode if I let off the throttle....I tried changing out the shift motor with a spare i have and that did not change anything. I do not have any codes.
Ideas? all help is much appreciated.

How old is the battery. Mine was acting up because the battery was 7 years old and replaced it and it runs so much better. I don’t know what that had to do with it but also check all the ground wires 🤷‍♂️

New battery, no change. I also tried jumpers off the trans to the battery to check ground, no change

After sitting that long, check your wiring thoroughly for rodent damage. May be a long shot and may be exactly the cause. Other than that, you said new battery but if it isn't fully charged, low voltage causes all kinds of gremlins from no shifting odd power steering issues, you name it. Also early models have been known to have the 3 main ground wires loose that cause the same intermittent issues as the low voltage.

In short go over everything with a fine tooth comb, looks like you have been through it pretty well already, so look for the non obvious stuff. Be sure and check your full intake, from under the hood, see if the coarse sponge pre-filter is intact or been rodent damaged, if so check the main filter behind the drivers seat, easier to take seat back off w/ 5 10mm bolts to get at everything easier.

A little more info, like year and model

I assuming it has paddle shifters ?

You just bought - correct ?

How many miles ?

Please post pics - love sxs porn

do you know if it shifted before it sat for 6 years?

did you check engine oil, dump oil/change filters?

do you know why it was sitting for 6 years?

Do you have a service manual ?

You did not mention doing a re-learn on the DCT - have you? It's a simple step that probably won't solve your problem, but worth a shot.

Probably more likely wiring damage or ground issues.

When it does shift into 2nd, keep driving it and see if any codes show up

That might give you a direction to go

Have not found wiring damage. It sat for 6 years due to a fatal accident. Was impounded due to the investigation and was released to the owner this past spring. It was put on its side and the kid driving was thrown into a tree. 850 miles on it. All fluids changed, new fluid and air filters. Ran fine and shifted fine before then. No rodent damage found anywhere. I can check the grounds, but tried added grounds with jumpers with no change. I am leaning toward the oil sensors or actuators, but I don’t know much on these.

Check and see if the emergency valve has been screwed in.

On the clutch cover there is a brass flat head screw, it's should be out enough that the holder plate next to it is in the slot. If the screw is in further the emergency valve is pushed in and the unit won't shift past 2nd.

Did you see if you have any stored codes?
Might help narrow down the problem, if there are any.
.
And being a 2016, to old for the seat belt latch problem?
.
Have a good day
