Did a little experimenting with heat blocking material (cheap stuff from lowes) and adding a fan. First I sit the rig at idle in the drive way with ambient at about 50 degrees for 30 minutes no heat shield. Then I applied heat shield and turned on the radiator fan I had from some other project that was never used. I just stuck in engine compartment. You can see visually some difference in the cam, but the seat and back was much cooler. I think proper placement of fan would help as well.

I hade thought about using some lizard skin sound dampener and insulation mix on the compartment but from the picture im not sure how well that would work vs making something to seal behind the seat and around seat belts. Anyhow whatever I do Ill post it up

I am going to order some Thermo Tech and put on the mid panel between bottom and top seat pads. I am going to try to seal the seat belt holes the best I can. The fan idea is after Thermo Tech if needed. BTW, the warmth has been nice lately in the late night WV rides!

Heck as hot as that compartment gets if you added a vent that closed you could place a two position switch and blow hot air into cab. Yeah when you cut that thermo tech post it up if like to see that.

I put the bubble foil insulation under the seat and up about 8 inches behind seat. Hope to go try it out next week.

No heat problem on mine in 95 degree weather. No windshield and I only let mine idle for 2 minutes or less. Adding a fan will help and I may add one for my 100 + degree rides. Also I don't do any riding below about 15 mph except for very short sections.

Heat is bad, I did under the seat and behind seat with foil sided maerial and helped in front but people in the back were cooking. Honda has a problem, weather has not warmed up yet. Grrrr

I added under the seat, mid panel, and back rest as well. It helped but now it just forces it in another area. Still comes through the gaps some.

I used 1/4 inch Dynaliner (from dynamat) under the front seat/floor panel, side panels and the small panel between the seat and seat back. I then used foam weather seal tape to seal off the seat and seat back. I use heavy foam and dynaliner to seal off any other gaps where hot air can enter the cab from the engine compartment like around the seat belts. This took a long time but it was a rainy day and I'm glad I did it. It has kept the heat at bay AND made the cab quieter as the Dynaliner is a sound insulator too, plus its water and oil resistant. Be prepared to take your time if you go to the effort of doing this as there is a lot of cutting and fitting. I have a glass windshield, hard rear panel and hard doors so the cab was getting a little noisy as the engine noise had no place to escape but the liner really helped out. I used 2 boxes of 32' x 54" liner to complete the job. Even though the Dynaliner's adhesive backing is pretty tenacious make sure your surface is clean and warm before adhering. And don't buy the cheap stuff just to find it came off a few months later.

Thumbnail size seems better for pics. Don't know when I will get to ride and test. The only issue remaining is the seat belt holes. The heat material did not stick to the rubber covers that go around the seat belts.
