Got the PC925 and just trying to figure before I go installing stuff how you guys are strapping them down. I see they make a strap that uses J hooks you can buy for this battery. I assume most guys are bending a metal bracket and just screwing them down? Thanks in advance!

I just took an old strap and cut a hole for it to go underneath the plastic and over the top of the battery

you can kinda see the strap under the fusebox below

They make a bar for this battery and it comes with J hooks. I was thinking of just getting flat stock, installing 2 tie down points (like small d rings) and getting J hooks.

I did pretty much the same. Cut a piece of 1/2" plywood to match the top of my battery. Rattle can rino'd it and the ran strap over it. Screwed fuse box on top of plywood.

Got a pic by chance? I can't quite picture what you did there.
Can't get my dang phone to work, but I will try to explain it, drilled two holes in the battery strap, one at the front of strap on the flat 8 x 32 x 1/2 inch pan head, back, drilled hole on the down slope of the battery strap, used a 8 x 32 x 1 inch pan head, only used two screws, left enough slack in the wires to remove primary battery hold down strap and move it off to the side for primary battery removal. Does that make since?

I'm just not picturing how you are utilizing the tie down for the primary battery to secure the 2nd battery. Are you saying you ran a strap from the factory tie down on the primary battery to the 2nd battery?

@EricG I think Smitty is confused. I believe he mounted his isolator to his primary battery hold down.

That makes more sense to me unless I am missing a piece of the puzzle.

I put the strap in a slot on one side and then bolted down on the other. It’s held since December 2015.

I used a large cable tie
Yep, I did the same thing. I used two large ties. One tight to hold the battery, then another left loose for a "battery carrier" when it's time to change the battery.

I was actually gonna ask you how that held up. When I was searching I saw your older post and was curious if the plastic held. I was afraid of it cracking but I guess there really isn't a lot of force on it. Does it still work well for the ground for the Isolator? I was thinking of doing the same thing.

It’s been good so far with no issues.

So much so that I did the same thing on the “Farm Rig” which is my fathers.

So I got the 2nd battery mounted down. I had a piece of flat stock with holes predrilled in it. I bent it to form around the battery. Towards the front of the battery box I screwed down a small corner bracket (3/4"x1/2"). I attached a J bolt to that. Towards the rear I did as others have done and just screwed the bracket down and will use it as a ground point as well. I also put 2 small pieces of felt on the backside of the bracket. Everything should hold up well I hope. Thanks to everyone for the ideas.

Now I gotta start rewiring stuff. Joy Joy!
