Ur kidding?
@HUCK was thinking those damn stock tires, change those 4 right away. I have not changed my plug yet, always have an extra with me and I do pull the plug once in a while, wipe it on my pants and if it looks good, put it back in.

Close to never.... the beauty of modern fuel injection means the likelihood of flooding or fuel fouling the engine/plug is minimal. @trigger 's recommendation of 10yrs isn't out of line. I suppose if you tipped the rig over and it go soaked with oil it may be recommended but even then I bet it would run just fine once cleaned out.

Bought mine autumn of 2014, never even thought of it till now hahaha, it’s a Honda so never. Mine has 4500 kms on it guess I should probably change it out (or at least look at it) and like @trigger ‘s idea of iridium. Ok it’s on the to do list for this week. Machines not at my house at the moment, parked at our family remote fishing camp.

Damn, I haven't thought about changing a spark plug since I was 15 years old and had a two stroke CR125.

When you check it or replace it, make sure your gap is correct. And if you save your original plug, put it back in the NGK box with the cardboard gap protector in place. That’ll keep it from bouncing around & possibly closing the gap.

On a Honda, this may be the one thing for... if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. My luck, I would break a plug wire.

Thank you will pick one up and install this week. You said 10HP gain.... with exhaust, intake and plug, sounds right on! As I burn premium always hopefully will bump up even more!

j
premium wont increase horsepower, actually most premium gasoline actually has less BTU(power)/gallon. Premium just allows you to run higher compression ratio which can result in increased horsepower.

im with Ky on this one. exhaust and spark plug with fuel grade wont give you 30% increase in power on these bikes. maybe 1 or 2. from a hotter plug and freer flowing exhaust. now it will definitely regain 10hp if youv lost it. thats about the only way your going to see a 10hp gain on a 500 engine without connecting it to a computer and changing engine components
